This site is a tribute to Clive Unwin, who gained his wings on 18TH august 2021 at St Catherines hospice in Crawley.
Clive is a much loved husband, dad, grandad and friend who will be deeply missed but will forever live on through his family and the love they shared. He has left us with so many treasured memories to cherish.
St Catherines hospice took great care of Clive during the last few weeks of his life.
The staffs compassion and warmth was amazing and their care was truly outstanding.
From the cleaner to the chef and all the doctors and nurses in between, Clive had nothing but praise and gratitude for them all.
Likewise he had become well known for his polite and grateful nature towards all staff regardless of their job role.
During his time at St Catherines he made them a promise- he would help raise the much needed funds towards the new hospice they are hoping to build. so they can offer more patients and families the levels of care he had received.
Sadly Clive never got to fulfil his promise but as his family we are going to do our best to honour his wishes.
we will start by asking that instead of funeral flowers, please can we request a donation in Clives memory be made. (link is on this page)
*We would also like to say the deepest thank you to Macmillan.
Their staff where only ever a phone call away and always willing to go above and beyond to help. Their positivity and care was a great help to Clive through the whole of his journey.
To both charities we will be forever grateful.
On a final note we would love for you to share your memories/stories of Clive on this page, this will bring comfort and help his memory live on.
love from all the Unwin family

My darling Clive another year has come and gone but our memories of you will live on your sense of humour your grumpy face your off key singing with words out of place Miss you always and ever more Your loving wifey ❤️❤️❤️❤️
2 years, I didn’t think we would get through 2 minutes without you dad- at times iv no idea how we have. It’s been hard and sooo many times iv needed to ask you things- Normally directions. I don’t think I truly appreciated just how much we needed you as a family not just our dad-You were the straight talking voice of reason between us, the only one who could be so blunt and honest - and get away with it. You were our entertainment , no visit was ever dull. Even when you was poorly you still pulled out your quick one liners- iv got the videos to prove it. You have left the biggest gap in all our life’s and without you it’s just not the same. Miss you pops 💔 Love you forever and a day dad. Lou, nik and your babies
